Mentos and Soda is Explosive Fun

School Day

Go Fish

I made a fishing game for Erik for "F" week. My nephews really loved it so when Tanner had a birthday, I knew the perfect gift.

Boys!!! Little and Big

So this week was a boy week around here. I guess some things I just don't get. Like, why after ten minutes of whining, Mikey finally gets the broom to sweep the back porch. Neil comes out and says he has a better way to do that. Mikey was smiling from ear to ear while cleaning the porch with a leaf blower. Ten minutes ago he was in tears over his chores.

Neil also taught the boys how to start a fire with a magnifying glass. The boys were outside for THREE DAYS starting fires. (Safely of course) They got pretty good at it and actually got some good flames.

G.Q.

I was trying to take one nice little picture of Erik, but instead he turned it into a photo shoot. The quality of the pics is aweful but they are priceless. He just started posing. I've never seen him do anything like it. I was trying not to laugh because he looked so serious but it was hilarious.

New Suits

The boys got new suits for Christmas from Grandma Jan and Grandpa Paul. Looking gooooooood.

Snow Day!!

Snow again in Pahrump!! I grew up here in Pahrump and I only remember the snow sticking maybe twice. Now days it seems to snow every year at least once. Weird. The dogs seemed more excited than the boys. I guess they got their fill in Ely. I finally got three of them to play in it but Seth decided to get some alone time with the wii. They built a seven foot tall snowman but I didn't get any pictures of it before it fell over. Sorry boys! We did get one of a miniature version.

Happy New Years!!!

Aunt Angie had everyone over for New Years Eve. Erik came down with scarlet fever so he and I ate junk food and watched T.V. It was a nice quiet night. Poor Erik fell asleep at 8:30. The boys spent the night at Angie's. Thanks Ang for a quiet, peaceful night!!

Sometimes when I see how beautiful snow is, I think for a second (only a second)that I would like to live in it. And then: we hit the roads, the kids are crying about their frostbitten fingers and toes even though you spent 20 minutes getting them ready to go out, there are muddy and wet shoes everywhere, and it is cold!!! And then I remember it is great to visit and go home to the warmth. These are some pictures of the roads on the way out of Ely. We stopped to help someone stuck in the snow, and then we pulled over to help a truck that rolled over. It took us 8 hours to make the 5 hour trip home.

We are not big "snow" people, so my kids have never been sledding. This time in Ely, we took them the walking distance to the park so they could sled. The boys had a great time. Cousin Paul came with us. He showed us how it was done.
